Your Practitioner’s favourite tips:

What is one tried and true tip that you recommend for what to do when you have the flu or cold season?

Irena – Rest – take a day off and relax

Janine – Raw honey for sore throat or cough

Gloria – Go to bed early. Sleep is vital for immune function and overall health.

Robin –  I am hardcore when getting rid of sore throats as soon as they start. I take half a teaspoon of honey with half a teaspoon of raw minced garlic. It’s not terrible, and it works!

What is one tip for parents and families with sick kids?

Irena – Be gentle with yourself; they can feel your energy.

Janine – Wet socks: Soak a thin pair of socks in cold water, wring them out, and put them on your feet before bed with dry wool socks on top. It helps to decrease coughing/congestion, regulates body temperature and kicks the immune system into gear.

Gloria – Thank your support, team.

Robin – Rest, rest, rest. Great sleep is the key to fast healing. Kids need to spike a bit of fever to burn up the bad bugs. If they run too hot, call the doctor. My daughter’s most recent cold spiked a fever, and by the middle of the night, it broke and, by the next day, was nothing but a bit of a runny nose.

General Health Tips

Janine – Hydration is KEY! When your mucus membranes (lips, eyes, nose) are dry, they are susceptible to viruses and bacteria.

Washing your hands (babies’ and children’s) regularly is THE most impactful thing you can do to protect yourself (and others) from illness and the spread of illness.

Robin – Breathe in and out through your nose with your mouth closed and tongue elevated. The key is to breathe out longer than you breathe in (three seconds in, 5 seconds out)

Are your Sinuses bothering you? Rub the tips of your toes and fingers; this is where your sinus reflexes are.
