Allison McIlwraith, B.Kin (Hons), R. Kin, M.OMSc

Osteopathic Manual Practitoner

My Approach

Allison utilizes a variety of principle-based manual techniques in order to reduce or remove anatomical restrictions from the body’s superficial to deep layers. This then restores the normal physiological function of the body and the healing process can begin.

What to expect

  • A thorough intake and health history
  • A clothed full body hands-on assessment
  • A structural assessment and treatment of the body’s asymmetries, restrictions, tissue tension changes and sensory inconsistencies affecting your symptoms.

Bio

Allison is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Kinesiologist, competitive dance teacher, ergonomist, and industrial sports medicine professional. She has her degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and her Master in Practice diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. She is a Registered Kinesiologist with the COKO and OKA and a member of Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN) and the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA). Allison came across the term Osteopathy early in her undergraduate studies. She was immediately captured by the practical concept of structure governing function and treating the body as a dynamic unit of a process. The body has innate self-healing and self-restoring mechanisms which can be optimized when obstructions are removed. It is the perfect marriage of Allison’s love for the art of human movement and biological science. She looks forward to educating and helping a diverse range of patients to restore their health.
