Naomi Higenbottam, IBCLC, RN, BScN, CNP, MPH

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

My Approach

I take a personalized approach to lactation support. I use evidenced based research to inform my suggestions and use my counselling skills to help parents navigate parenthood. I feel very strongly that parents should be given all the options in a situation so that they can make informed decisions about their breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey.

What to expect

  • Thorough history taking of the pregnancy, birth, medical issues of parent and baby, breastfeeding / lactation journey up to our appointment
  • Observe a full breastfeeding session / pumping session / bottle feeding session depending on the situation, as well as examination of parent and baby for physical issues which may impact breastfeeding/lactation
  • Feeding plan and/or referral to address the noted issues, includes free email follow up to adapt plan as needed
