Overview

Mental health counselling is a collaborative, trauma-informed treatment modality that supports well-being through guided conversation and therapeutic connection. By integrating Narrative Therapy, expressive arts and behavioural approaches, I support clients to reflect on their personal stories, express and process emotions, and make meaningful changes to bring preferred outcomes closer to reach. Narrative therapy invites clients to reframe their experiences, while expressive arts therapy provides a non-verbal outlet for deeper emotional processing. The behavioural approach then offers practical strategies to reinforce preferred patterns, creating a holistic, transformative journey of self-discovery, emotional insight, and lasting change.

Julie Mason, RSW

Mental Health Counsellor, Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW)

Over 10 years of experience in mental health in Guelph community and health care settings, I’ve supported people to make more sense of what “health” and “illness” means to them. Let’s work with what you have right now, by listening to the signals. Together in counselling, we’ll get curious about these patterns and find ways to settle, restore, and trust again—so your mind and body can start working with each other instead of against each other.

Emily Hiram, RP

Registered Psychotherapist

Emily is a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in body image, relationship with food, disordered eating, anxiety, and major life transitions. She frequently works with women in pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, and brings additional insight from her earlier career in the corporate world. Emily’s approach is trauma-informed and individualized, drawing from mindfulness, parts work (IFS), and psychodynamic therapy. She focuses on creating a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, reduce shame, and build lasting inner steadiness.

From all of us at Robin’s Nest Family Care, wishing you a season of rest, warmth, and moments that make your heart feel full. 💛
The holidays can bring joy but they can also bring stress, overwhelm, family tension, and old emotional patterns.

If this season feels heavy, you’re not alone.
We have virtual therapy sessions available over the holidays for anyone who needs extra support, grounding, or a safe space to process.

You don’t have to navigate it on your own.

If you’re needing a bit of grounding or support during the holidays, even a one-time session can be helpful. You’re welcome to book a single session and see how it feels

Before the year wraps up, it can be helpful to pause and gently check in with yourself:

-How is my body feeling?
-Where am I holding stress or tension?
-How have I been sleeping?
-What support would feel helpful right now?

If your answers point to sore shoulders, a tight jaw, low energy, or feeling “stretched thin,” your extended health benefits may be able to support you. We have extended our hours to help get you the care you deserve.

Massage, naturopathic care, osteopathy, nutrition support, mental health counselling. These aren’t indulgences. They are ways to care for your body that has carried you through this year.

If it feels like the right time, we’re here.
You can use your remaining benefits to book a visit before they renew. Use 🔗 in the description.
